Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
As a Senior Software QA at FX Digital, youre passionate about quality across websites, apps, and especially Smart/Connected TV. Reporting to the Head of QA, you work independently, creating clear test plans and cases that ensure robust coverage in fast-paced projects. You lead QA efforts across our dynamic and high-profile projects, supporting the team with feedback and promoting accountability. Confident in challenging processes, you encourage curiosity, innovation, and the adoption of tools and automation. You balance technical ability with mentorship, guiding colleagues and shaping team culture. Experienced in automation, you know when it adds value and contribute to frameworks where useful. You actively mentor, onboard, and coach others while sharing knowledge. A reliable collaborator, you communicate clearly, refine processes, and promote continuous learning. You care deeply about detail, quality, and supporting team growth.
Responsibilities
- Own and contribute to QA lifecycle: requirements, planning, test cases, execution, defect reporting, and post-release checks.
- Uphold QA standards across the project lifecycle, ensuring functional and aesthetic quality.
- Lead/contribute to automation, defining coverage and implementing tests.
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date documentation.
- Triage, document, and prioritise defects.
- Communicate QA progress, risks, and needs internally and externally.
- Mentor Junior/Mid QAs, ensuring consistency and growth.
- Recommend and document QA process improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years QA experience in cross-functional teams/projects.
- Excellent English communication able to adapt, challenge, and influence.
- Solid grasp of SDLC and QAs role within it.
- Strong HTML/CSS knowledge and debugging with Chrome DevTools/Charles Proxy.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber) and Gherkin-style scripting.
- Familiarity with JavaScript or another scripting language.
- Confident with Git workflows and collaboration practices.
- Strong time management, prioritisation, and delivery focus.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to lead QA strategy, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Experienced with Jira and test management tools (Qase, TestRail).
- Appreciation for good UX and user-centred design.
- Experience in people management or desire to develop in that area.
- Comfortable coaching, mentoring, and giving constructive feedback.
Desirable
- Advanced test automation with Cucumber, Appium, Cypress or Selenium.
- ISTQB or equivalent certification.
- Exposure to unit testing and CI/CD integration.
- Leadership/management training.
- Experience testing OTT, Smart TV apps, and streaming platforms (video manifests, network behavior).
- API testing (Postman, Bruno).
- Mobile app testing (iOS, Android) on real devices/simulators.
- Multi-browser, console, and connected device testing.
