Software Development Manager, Payroll Tech

Were building a greenfield near real-time payroll platform - replacing decades of legacy infrastructure to process pay end-to-end for over a million employees across 60+ countries. This spans multiple organizations within Amazon integrating into a single canonical architecture, with engineering teams across multiple geographies. Name another company doing this at this scale. Your job will be to lead a world-class software development team in Barcelona - driving the design and delivery of core platform components from architecture through production, and developing the team that ships them.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in engineering team management

- Experience in engineering

- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
