Powerplant Integration Engineer
Job Description:

An opportunity for a Powerplant Integration Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team in charge of Engine and Propeller Integration. The team is responsible for the design, development, and implementation activities of the power plant for a major turbo-propeller aircraft project. The jobholder will reinforce our Engineering department, working in close contact with multiple aircraft disciplines (Aerodynamics, Structures, Systems, and Certification) to ensure a successful integration process from development to continuous airworthiness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Integrate the engine, propeller, and sub-systems (ventilation, fuel, control, lubrication, etc.) into the Powerplant and the overall aircraft architecture.
- Define physical and functional interfaces of the Powerplant, ensuring all aircraft technical specifications, certification, and safety requirements are met.
- Support validation and verification activities by defining and performing the adequate means of substantiation (analysis, testing, and inspections).
- Analyze flight/ground test data and audits to evaluate powerplant integration, proposing technical modifications or design improvements when necessary.
- Investigate in-service anomalies and incidents to provide technical support for the Continuous Airworthiness of the aircraft fleet.
- Evaluate customer requests and modifications, assessing their technical impact, risks, and compliance with Powerplant requirements.

- Education: Aeronautical Engineering degree, Masters degree, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Initial professional experience in Powerplant Integration or related aircraft systems. An Airbus Internship will be highly valued.
- Technical knowledge: Basic knowledge of powerplant integration tools and familiarity with turboprop aircraft development cycles.
- Languages: Advanced level in English (fluent in writing and conversation).
- Soft skills: Strong communication skills for disciplinary coordination, analytical mindset, and ability to assess technical risks.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Experience in verification/validation processes or continuous airworthiness will be valuable.
