DevOps and QA Automation Engineer
We are looking for a DevOps and QA Automation Engineer to be part of our Nestlé Nespresso Digital and Tech Team. At Nespresso, our Digital Tech teams are at the heart of our innovation journey, in a space where we continue to invest, evolve, and grow.

Location: Nespresso Digital Tech Hub, Barcelona, Spain.
Type of Contract: Permanent.
Type of Work: Hybrid.

The Role:
As a DevOps and QA Automation Engineerwith a strong Test Automation background, you will be responsible for enabling, integrating, and operating automated testing capabilities within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable, and scalable quality feedback across the software delivery lifecycle. You will work at the intersection of DevOps, Quality Engineering, and Development, owning the execution layer of test automation and supporting teams to test early, test continuously, and deploy with confidence.
In this role, you will focus on enabling and operating automation and testing capabilities within DevOps pipelines. You will work closely with QA Engineers or Automation Architects, to ensure quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
In This Role, You Will:
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with integrated automated testing.
- Integrate UI, API, and contract tests (e.g. Playwright, contract testing tools) into delivery pipelines.
- Own automated test execution in CI/CD, including stability, flakiness, and execution time.
- Collaborate with QA Engineers and Developers to ensure automation is CI/CD-ready and automation-first.
- Apply DevOps best practices to testing infrastructure, environments, and tooling.
- Continuously improve pipeline performance, feedback quality, and execution reliability.
- Contribute to standards, best practices, and Communities of Practice across DevOps and Quality Engineering.
What Were Looking For:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in test automation and automating CI/CD pipelines (for example, Backend, Web, API, and Desktop (Windows, MacOS)).
- Strong experience with Git and GitHub in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Proven ability to turn business and functional requirements into solid technical specs and QA deliverables.
- Solid test automation experience using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Experience with API testing.
- Good understanding of DevOps principles and cloud-based environments.
- Ability to work effectively across DevOps, QA and Development teams.
- A real enthusiasm for teamwork and helping others across different teams, and experience collaborating in global settings and across remote, multicultural teams
- A proactive problem-solver with a growth mindset and a drive to explore new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Detail-oriented when it comes to testing, monitoring, and optimizing, ensuring issues are caught before they reach users.
Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
- Experience improving test reliability and reducing flaky tests.
- Interest or exposure to AI-assisted testing or automation optimization.
- Experience with contract testing.
