Global head of Omnichannel Platforms

The role owns the end-to-end Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and omnichannel platform ecosystem, spanning eCommerce, mobile applications, retail (ePOS), and customer service, ensuring a seamless, scalable, and consumer-centric experience across all regions.
All platform teams operate as an integral part of the Global E-Commerce organization, working in close partnership with commercial, marketing, and retail stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
In addition to global platform ownership, the role may-depending on experience and leadership profile-also assume overall site leadership responsibility for the Madrid Technology Hub, positioning it as a key global delivery and innovation center within the Global E Commerce and IT landscape.
Omnichannel Platform Strategy Architecture
Define and own the global omnichannel platform vision and roadmap, aligned with Global E Commerce strategy and business growth objectives.
Lead the design and evolution of a headless, API-first, microservices-based architecture, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and long-term sustainability.
Ensure platform reliability, security, performance, and extensibility across all regions.
Omnichannel Integration Consumer Experience
Ensure seamless integration across allconsumertouchpoints:
Web and mobile eCommerce
Mobile applications
Retail systems (ePOS)
CRM and customer service platforms
Enable consistent end-to-end customer journeys while supporting market-specific localization.
Partner closely with Global E Commerce, Marketing, and Retail teams to continuously optimize customer experience and conversion.
Leadership, Team Development Tech Hub Responsibility
Build, lead, and mentor high-performing global teams of software engineers, architects, and solution managers working as part of the Global E Commerce delivery model.
Foster agile, DevOps-oriented ways of working and strong business-technology collaboration.
Depending on candidate profile, assume overall leadership of the Madrid Technology Hub, including:
Site-level leadership, culture, and people development
Hiring, scaling, and retaining technology talent supporting Global E Commerce and omnichannel initiatives
Strengthening Madrid as a strategic global delivery and innovation hub for the E Commerce organization
Acting as a local leadership interface to HR, facilities, finance, and regional stakeholders
Ensure strong alignment between global eCommerce strategy, platform delivery, and local execution excellence.
AI-Enabled Engineering Innovation
Champion the adoption of AI-based software development practices acrossGlobalE Commerce platforms, including:
AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer)
Automated testing, code quality, and documentation tools
AI-driven monitoring, incident detection, and operational analytics
Drive productivity, quality, and speed-to-market improvements through intelligent automation.
Stay ahead of industry trends such as composable commerce, MACH architectures, and AI-driven platforms.
Stakeholder Management Collaboration
Act as a trusted technology partner to C-level executives, Global E Commerce leadership, regional business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
Translate commercial and consumer strategy into clear technology outcomes and roadmaps.
Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Global Local Optimization
Balance global standardization with local market flexibility, in line with Global E Commerce governance.
Define architectural standards, delivery models, and best practices across regions.
Budget, Vendor Partner Management
Own the omnichannel platform budget within the Global E Commerce context.
Manage strategic vendors, SaaS providers, and system integrators.
Ensure delivery excellence, cost control, and long-term platform sustainability.

Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
High level of English and Spanish.
Proven experience leading Direct to Consumer (DTC) and omnichannel ecosystems, including eCommerce, mobile apps, retail (ePOS), and customer service platforms, preferably in the retail sector.
Expertise integrating multiple consumer touchpoints such as web, mobile, retail systems, CRM, and customer service solutions.
Experience leading teams of engineers, architects, and solution managers, and partnering with senior business stakeholders as a trusted technology advisor.
Ability to translate business and consumer strategies into clear, actionable technology roadmaps.
Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non technical audiences.
Experience balancing global standardization with local market flexibility.
