Senior Database Administrator
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-level/Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a passion for technology to join our team in Madrid. In this role, you will be part of a team of experienced DBAs responsible for ensuring the stability, performance and security of high-performance databases that support critical applications and real-time data processing.
Responsibilities include managing, optimizing and safeguarding databases to meet the needs of a dynamic, performance-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure the high availability, performance and security of databases
- Optimize database queries and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Implement and maintain database backups and disaster recovery plans
- Monitor database activity and identify potential issues proactively
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration of databases with applications
- Perform daily monitoring of database health and performance
- Analyze and optimize database queries to improve response times
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues quickly and efficiently
- Document database procedures and configurations
- Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation for databases
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices
REQUIREMENTS- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Experience with Elasticsearch
- Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python
- Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of cloud-based database technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient communication skills in Spanish are required, with basic knowledge of English
NICE TO HAVE- Certifications in database administration or related fields
- Experience with media or entertainment industry
- Skills in other database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server)
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools
- Experience working in a high-volume, mission-critical environment
