Simulation Software Engineer
We are looking for a Simulation Software Engineer to reinforce our Future Combat Simulation team in Getafe, who will take part in the definition and implementation of complex simulation architectures for SIRTAP and FCAS.
SIRTAP will provide a performance leap in the high-end tactical UAS segment. Its dual applications will offer a wide array of missions tailored to the operational needs of customers both in the institutional and governmental markets. Designed to fly under the toughest environmental and operational conditions, the UAS will be certified to fly in the segregated airspace and pursue civil operations, all possible with the same platform.
SIRTAP, with over 20 hours endurance and flying at an altitude of 21,000 feet, the tactical UAS is fit for day/night and maritime Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, providing rapid response for close target inspection.
The team works in an international environment which requires close coordination with internal colleagues, stakeholders and external partner companies in an Agile way. Therefore an Agile mindset is a must for the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop Human Machine Interface software for our simulation solutions.
- Derive system requirements from operational requirements.
- Design architecture of software modules for new simulator functionalities.
- Perform integration testing.
- Implement software modules (mainly C++).
- Create and perform unit tests of Software modules (C++ / Python).
- Create tools for improving our development processes (e.g. code generators).
SKILLS:
- Degree (or Master Degree) in Software /Aeronautical/ Telecommunication Engineering or related background
- Web technology
- Javascript software development. Front-End and Back-End (full-stack).
- Knowledge on ES6, Web Components, Proxies, JS Async, Workers, HTML Canvas Graphic
- Web page design HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge in nodes and ExpressJS framework
- Knowledge in any common template engine (as Pug, Mustache, Dust, ...)
- Knowledge in GIS library as Openlayers, Cesium, MapLibre-GPL. Valuable knowledge on GIS servers (as Geoserver)
- Knowledge in Electron framework
- Valuable knowledge on WebRTC, ffmpeg and/or gstreamer
- Valuable knowledge on WebGL
- Capabilities on standalone applications too:
- HMI development on technology as Qt.
- Software knowledge on C++ and/or Python.
- Experience in the aviation / simulation / defence industry would be beneficial
- Excellent English (negotiation level)
- Excellent skills in Software Development
